Andervel
„Einlægt, náið, hjartnæmt, viðkvæmt: Andervel er verkefni söngvarans, skáldsins og hljóðfæraleikarans José Luis Anderson. José er fæddur og uppalin í Mexíkó en mótaði Andervel á Íslandi. Verkefnið hefur náð að skapa sér sérstöðu, einstaka folk tónlist í bland við fíngerða texta á spænsku, ensku og íslensku með hljómhrifum frá Íslandi og hefðbundinni mexíkóskri tólist.“
Andervel er virðingarvottur til þeirra heima sem mætast innra með háni, þ.e. bakgrunnur háns í klassískum söng og sá þroski sem hán hefur öðlast í íslensku senunni.
Andervel hefur verið hampað sem sjaldgæfri perlu íslensk-spænskrar tungu á miðlinum Al Día. Smáskífa háns, Noche, var gefin út seint árið 2020 en um þessar mundir vinnur hán að sinni fyrstu breiðskífu.
Björg og Ingibjörg flytja frumsamda tónlist í bland við spuna. Dúóið leitast að fanga galdur í samspili flautna og rafbassa. Unnið er út frá hefðbundinni spilamennsku á hljóðfærin í bland við uppbyggingu og afbökun á þeim hljóðum sem þau hafa upp á að bjóða náttúrulega ásamt notkun effektapedala. Björg og Ingibjörg hafa báðar lagt stund á frjálsan spuna að hluta í sinni tónsköpun en úr ólíkum bakgrunni - Ingibjörg með meiri bakgrunn úr djassi en Björg úr heimi klassíkurinnar. Samstarfið brýtur því ýmsa veggi og fyrirframgefnar hugmyndir og skapar nýjan hljóðheim.

Andervel
"Earnest, intimate, heartfelt, delicate: Andervel is the music project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist José Luis Anderson. Born and raised in Mexico, formed in Iceland, Andervel has succeeded in creating a unique brand of folk combining carefully crafted lyrics in Spanish, English and Icelandic, with a sound influenced by the ethereal touch of Iceland and traditional Mexican music.
Andervel acts as a homage to the worlds that converge within them, their background in classical singing and their maturation in the Icelandic scene.
Celebrated as a rare pearl in Spanish- Icelandic language by American outlet Al Día, Andervel’s anticipated EP Noche was released in late 2020. Andervel is currently working on their debut LP.
Ingibjörg Elsa Turchi og Björg Brjánsdóttir
Björg Brjánsdóttir graduated from the Norwegian Academy of Music in 2017 and pursued further flute studies at the Music University in Hanover, Munich and Copenhagen. She has in the past years focused on collaborations with composers and premiering new work for flute. Her first solo album, GROWL POWER, was released in January 2024 featuring works by Bára Gísladóttir. Björg was nominated as the Performer of the Year at the 2022 Icelandic Music Awards and has performed as a soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Elja Chamber Orchestra, the Icelandic Youth Orchestra and more. She performs regularly with various orchestras and ensembles in Germany, Norway, and Iceland. Björg is a member of the flute septet viibra and has collaborated with Björk on her album Utopia and on concert tours all over the world since 2018.
Bass player and composer Ingibjörg Turchi has been a mainstay in the Icelandic music scene for over a decade. Since 2017, Ingibjörg has performed regularly under her own name with her band. She has released two solo albums, Wood / work (2017), where the electric bass was in the foreground and Meliae (2020) where she continued to expand her sound with the help of her band. The album combines jazz, experimental music and minimalism in an untranslated mix. Repetition is paramount. Instruments such as saxophone, guitar and bass are deconstructed with the help of electronic devices and then rebuilt. In this way, Ingibjörg and her band create a unique and mesmerizing sound.
